One Day Seminar

This is a knowledge-based presentation structured for multidisciplinary participation in a conference format for an unlimited number of participants.
Training objectives are:

To introduce the new field of student threat assessment to a broad representation of school and community district professionals who are responsible for policy and/or practice of student threat/risk assessment.
To provide insight into known school shooters and other violent youth, as well as, the thousands of threat makers in the aftermath of these high profile school shootings.
To introduce protocols for threat/risk assessment and intervention teams.

Two Day Level I Training

This is a comprehensive skill-based workshop structured for those professionals in the school and community system (school principals, police, student services coordinators, therapists, etc.) who are, or will be, conducting the actual threat/risk assessments. Real case studies are a key part of this training as participants have the opportunity to conduct assessments, through small group processing of the data, prior to being informed of the actual outcome of each case.

Two Day Level II Training

Two Day Level II Training - Referred to as "Clinical Interviewing in Threat Assessment", this two day training focuses on strategic interviewing of key individuals in the threat assessment process: threat maker(s), target(s), collaterals, reporter(s), parents/caregivers. A more comprehensive look at types of high-risk youth is presented. Skill development using case studies, role-playing and skill demonstration using live teenage actors has been viewed as one of the most "powerful" aspects of this training.
